Habilidades: Identificar informações implícitas e explícitas em um texto; Estabelecer relações entre textos verbais, não verbais ou verbais; Identificar o assunto principal do texto, sua finalidade e sua organização textual; inferir o sentido de uma palavra ou expressão em um texto.

Utilize as estratégias de leitura estudadas em sala de aula (skimming, scanning) e depois faça a tradução na íntegra dos textos 1 e 2. Não se esqueça de observar as imagens, pois elas fornecem informações e "dicas" para o entendimento dos textos.

Retomando as estratégias:

Scanning: leitura com objetivo de encontrar algumas informações específicas no texto: palavras-chaves, frases específicas, ideias etc. 

Skimming: leitura rápida para ter-se uma ideia central do texto: usada para identificar rapidamente as principais ideias ou o sentido geral do texto.

TEXTO 1 -  The logo and flag of the United Nations

The logo and flag of the United Nations have become its symbols as it carries out its work on the world stage. They have the practical effect of identifying the United Nations in areas of trouble and conflict to any and all parties concerned. They are also aspirational symbols, for they speak to the hopes and dreams of people the world over, for peace and unity.

THE DESIGN

The original United Nations logo was created by a team of designers durante the United Nations Conference on Internacional Organization in 1945. The design team was led by Oliver Lincoln Lundquist.

TEXTO 2 - THE EMBLEM OF THE UNITED NATIONS 

 

The official emblem of the United Nations in white, centered n a light blue background. The name “United Nations”, 

coined by United States President Franklin D.Roosevelt was first used in the Declaration by United Nations of 1 January 1942, 

during the Second World War, when representatives of 26 nations pledged their Governments to continue fighting together 

against the Axis Powers.
